Independence of God

               God’s Independence

             Defined

                  Aseity “from himself ”
  • God does not need us or the rest of creation for anything.

HOWEVER

We can bring him Glory.

Proof

  1. “The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all men life and breath and everything”

Acts 17:24–25

  •  God does not need anything from mankind.

2.  God asks Job, “Who has given to me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine”

 Job 41:11

  • God created ALL things.

Interesting Question

  • If God is independent from creation then why are we significant?

If he already has love why does he need our love?

Is He Lonely? Why does he need us?

Anwser

There was love and communication between the Father and the Son before creation.

  • Jesus prays, “Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory which I had with you before the world was made.”

John 17:5

  • Jesus speaks to the Father of “my glory which you have given me in your love for me before the foundation of the world.”

John 17:24

Among the Three person’s of  the Trinty, there has been perfect love, fellowship, and communication for all eternity; therefore, He doesn’t need us.

God has no Origin; he just is.

Man is a created being and it is necessary for us to be dependent on the creator,

His being is far different from our own.

WHY DID HE CREATE US?

“Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

 Isaiah 43:7

  •  We are significant because God, the one who came from nothing, created us; we are meaningful to Him.
  • He created us out of free choice all for His GLORY.
